Visit of Dr. Juan Manuel Lirio from the Instituto Argentino Antartica (IAA, Buenos Aires, Argentina)
As part of the program KONTAKT (supported by Ministry of Education, youth and sports) our Institute visited (between September 15 - October 14) Dr. Juan Manuel Lirio from the “Instituto Argentino Antartica” (IAA, Buenos Aires, Argentina). Dr. Lirio has a 30-year old work experience of research in the Antarctica. The aim of his visit was not only a logistical preparation of a joint Tierra del Fuego field research, but also to learn basic performance of analytical procedures of fission-track method at the Institute of Geology. During his stay, he presented the lecture: “Paleoclimatic importance of the Antarctic continent“ at the Masaryk University in Brno.
