Following the official name of our department, we focus on
possibilities to exploit the spin of electrons in novel electronical
devices (spintronics) whose dimensions often scale down to sub-micron
range (nanoelectronics). An archetypal material for corresponding
studies is the dilute magnetic semiconductor (Ga,Mn)As and currently
our interest shifts more to systems with metallic ferromagnets and
antiferromagnets. We investigate these both experimentally and
theoretically and occasionally spend also some effort on similar systems
where spin does not play a major role…
