Paper from Department of Neurohumoral Regulations, Institute of Physiology, was cited in New York Times Magazine
The author of the article in New York Times, Gretchen Reynolds, cites paper of authors Nováková M., Sládek M. a Sumová A. entitled "Human chronotype is determined in bodily cells under real life conditions" published in Chronobiol. Int. 30(4): 607-617, 2013. This paper demonstrates for the first time that chronotype affects temporal switching on and off of genes in human tissues in everyday life conditions. The New York Times article points at the results and concludes that our preferences for time to go to bed and to wake up are not only dependent on our lifestyle but also are imprinted in temporal program regulating our genes.
