BIOCEV

The aim of the project is preparing for an edition with the commentary and the translation of the manuscript Lexicon scriptorum Regni Bohemiae written by Jan Petr Cerroni (15. 5. 1753 Uherské Hradiště - 3. 9. 1826 Brno), secretary of the Moravian-Silesian governorate, collector, historian, literaly historian.

Cerroni's big merit is collecting of valuable documentary stuff about the history of Bohemia and Moravia. Today it makes so-called Cerroni´s collection deposited in Moravian Provincial Archives in Brno.

The work Lexicon scriptorum Regni Bohemiae with the second title Scriptores Regni Bohemiae cum eorum vitae et scriptorum tum typo expressorum, quam manu exaratorum, ab illis relictorum, enarratione in 24 volumes came into being in 1792 - 1825. This work is the first modern dictionary of Bohemian writers in alphabetical order containing valuable bio-bibliographical data about writers born or working in Bohemia in the Middle Ages and in the Early Modern period, who were concerned with humanities and literature (so called res litteraria). Workers of the Departament of documentation and research of cultural inheritance of Institute of Classical Studies have participated in this project.
