Particle physics beyond the Standard Model

The IRP will be carried out within large international collaborations. Phenomena going beyond the current status of knowledge as encompassed in the Standard Model will be searched for in collisions of electrons, protons and antiprotons at accelerators in CERN, DESY and FERMILAB, as well as investigating cosmic rays of highest energies. Of principal importance will be our participation in the experiment ATLAS at CERN. For this purpose special detectors will be designed and procedures for processing and analysis of huge volumes of data will be developed.Permanent attention will be paid to detailed investigation of predictions of the Standard Model as their knowledge is a prerequisite for identification of new phenomena. For the understanding of phenomena beyond the Standard Model, theoretical approaches working in more dimensional space–time and based on the idea that basic objects of the microworld are strings, will be explored and related new mathematical approaches developed.
