PhDr. Taťána Petrasová, CSc.

She is a graduate of Charles University in Prague in the field of art history and aesthetics. Since 1986, she has worked at the Institute of Art History of the ASCR, v. v. i., where she began to specialise in research of the architecture and art of the 19th century. Since 1996, she has worked as an editor of the journal Umění / Art, included in the WoS database. She is a member of the Council of the institute, deputy director of the institute and in 2006–2012 she served in a panel and commission of the Czech Science Foundation.


In 1996, she received the A. Mellon stipend for young researchers, in 1998 a stipend of The Victorian Society in Britain and in 2004 a stipend from The Atthingham Trust in Britain. The Art Historical Society in the Czech Lands awarded her the Josef Krása Prize for treatment and presentation of the fine arts of the 19th century in 1999. Along with the aesthetician Helena Lorenzová, she prepared the History of the Fine Arts III: 1780–1890 issued in 2001 by Academia Publishing House. Since 1998, she has participated conceptually in the organisation of the interdisciplinary conferences on the issues of the 19th century.


In 2012, she along with Roman Prahl prepared the book Mnichov – Praha. Výtvarné umění mezi tradicí and modernou. / München – Prag. Kunst zwischen Tradition und Moderne (Munich – Prague: The Fine Arts between Tradition and Modernity) for publication.
