Physiologia Bohemoslovaca was founded in 1952 and from 1991 has retained its original name in the subtitle, and is now being published as Physiological Research.

 The journal publishes articles on normal and pathological physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmacology, and immunology.

 Authors can submit original, previously unpublished research articles, review articles, rapid or short communications.

 Physiological Research is indexed and abstracted by Current Contents, Science Citation Index, Index Medicus/MEDLINE, Excerpta Medica and Current Awareness in Biological Sciences. The actual impact is 1.646.
