Recent Job Placements of CERGE-EI Alumni

We are pleased to announce several key placements of recent CERGE-EI graduates during the past few months.
Vahagn Jerbashian (Armenia, PhD September 2013) will take up his new position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Barcelona later this month. Anna Kochanova (Russia, PhD planned autumn 2013) begins her term as a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn, Germany this month as well. Barbara Pertold-Gebicka (Poland, PhD in 2011) starts as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Economic Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague, after two years as a Post-doctorate Fellow at Aarhus University. Martin Guzi (Slovakia, PhD July 2013) is working as a Post-doctorate Fellow, Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. Boryana Madzharova (Bulgaria, PhD July 2013) holds a Post-doctorate Fellowship in Public Finance at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany.
There have also been significant career changes from earlier CERGE-EI alumni. Karel Soukeník (Czech Republic, PhD 2001) was recently appointed to be a Board Member and CFO/COO at Sberbank in Prague. He previously worked as the CFO for Raiffeisenbank in Prague.
In the social networking sphere, two CERGE-EI alumni have recently begun writing on the topics of interest to the region. Martin Pospíšil (Czech Republic, MA 2011) has launched a twitter feed (@pospisilmartin) and Dragana Stanišić (Serbia, PhD expected autumn 2013) has launched a blog on SEE Market News (http://seemarketnews.com) to bring together economic research from the emerging markets of South Eastern Europe.
