Analyzing African Social And Political Philosophy
Abstract: The lecture will examine the nature, objectives and trends of African social and political philosophy. After reminding some neglected sources and antecedents, the lecture will distinguish two major axis that include different trends: identity and emancipation of Africa as well as democracy and cultural diversity. The former includes theories such as negritude, African socialism, African humanism, emancipation, pan-Africanism, modernization, while the latter concentrates on issues related to democracy, civil society and cultural diversity.
