The study is a sociological comparison of the work/life strategie of different cathegories of women based on thein work positron and family situation in the czech society dutiny the last 15 years. On one side gender inequalities and discrimination of women on the kanout market ar directly related to the work/life balance issue apriori defined as „women´s problem“ and on the other side the need or strategy of work/life balance is not the only one basis of the unequal treatment of women on the labour market because the source of inequalities is feminity itself being connected with a real family burden or not. The work is a result of long therm sociological research of the positron of women and men on the labour market – quantitative researches of the population of women and men on the labour market and qualitatives sociological researches of particular social cathegories – managers, entrepreneurs, unemployed women etc.
