/Histories and Epistemologies of Scientific Institutions/

Theory of Science, the journal for interdisciplinary studies of science, seeks research articles, review articles and book reviews thematically focusing on the institutional and material aspects of the scientific development.

We are especially interested in articles approaching distinctive institutional moments in the founding, formation and establishing of individual sciences in epistemological, historical and methodological terms. We are also interested in studies addressing the relationships between intellectual and institutional analysis of the scientific development. Empirically oriented case studies dealing with the institutionalization of particular disciplines, research centres, foundations, professional journals, departments, or with the institutional activities of individual scientists, are also highly welcomed.
