Jan Novotny is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Econometric Analysis at Cass Business School, City University London, and Researcher at CERGE-EI. Dr. Novotny is a founder of Quantum Finance CZ, Ltd., a quantitative consultancy company. Dr. Novotny serves as a member of the Research and Enterprise Committee, City University London and the CERGE-EI Alumni Steering Committee.

Dr. Novotny regularly advises the Czech Government on various economic and financial issues ranging from corruption measurements to public debt administration and evaluation of EU membership. Dr. Novotny received a Master of Sciences in Nuclear Engineering from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, and a Master of Arts in Economics and Ph.D. from CERGE-EI, Prague.
