The Learned Society’s two-day General Assembly took place at the Hall of Patriots of the Collegium Carolinum and at the ASCR’s main building 16–17 May 2010. At this General Assembly, Růžena Dostálová, well-known byzantologist, and Martin Černohorský, renowned mathematician, were bestowed the Medal of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic for their contributions to the advancement of science. The Scientist Awards were presented to mathematician Miloslav Druckmüller and parasitologist Jan Tachezy. The Junior Scientist Awards were given to Milan Orlit and Dana Pokorná. The Learned Society Awards were presented to pedagogues Karel Lichtenberg and Jiří Herman for their significant work as young students in the advancement of science. The Grammar School Student Awards were presented to 10 students from Czech primary schools.
