International Summer School on Physics at Nanoscale 2014

Strong electron correlation effects in complex d- and f-based magnetic materials for technological applications

It is widely recognized that the first-principles based calculations of strongly correlated materials are important for understanding physical and chemical properties. The quantitative materials theory makes remarkable impact on the modern technology. This workshop aims to disseminate the present knowledge in this rich and vivid field. We invite both theoreticians and experimentalists to discuss development and applications of the correlated band methods based on a combination of the density functional theory and the dynamical mean field theory.

V souvislosti s oficiálním zahájením realizační fáze projektu HiLASE (www.hilase.cz) je pořádán 1. vědecký workshop na kterém bude představena koncepce a cíle projektu, dosavadní výsledky přípravné fáze, současný stav a strategie dalšího rozvoje VaV aktivit. V rámci workshopu proběhnou zejména diskuse o možnostech konkrétní spolupráce s potenciálními strategickými partnery, neformální oponentura a posouzení technické proveditelnosti navrhovaných řešení pro DPSSL (Diode Pumped Solid State Laser).

ELI-Beamlines Scientific Challenges

The second ELI-Beamlines Scientific Challenges is a part of the 2nd ISAC (International Scientific Advisory Committee) meeting in Prague October 5th and 6th this year. We would like to discuss the next steps of development of ELI-Beamlines, ELI-delivery efforts and the further sharpening and adjustments of the experimental and theoretical programs.

Of course the latest developments in other research and facility programs are of outmost interests to us and the community.

Tématem sedmého workshopu jsou magnetické struktury.

Úkolem workshopu je detailní vysvětlení nové možnosti v programu Jana2006, kterou je upřesňování magnetických struktur z neutronových práškových a monokrystalových dat.
