The deadline for submitting applications for CIFs beginning in Autumn 2014 was Friday, May 23, 2014.
NOTE: Applications received by the deadline will receive primary consideration. We will consider applications of strong candidates after this date on a rolling basis. We will attempt to come to a decision within two weeks of receiving applications.

The CERGE-EI Foundation provides fellowships for economists who obtained their PhD in North America, Australia/New Zealand or Western Europe and who are assuming a full-time academic position in any country in Central and Eastern Europe or the countries of the former Soviet Union. The purpose of the fellowship is to make academic careers in the post-communist countries more attractive for such graduates by providing supplemental income that should bridge the gap between academic and private sector salaries. The fellowship also provides a set of services designed to improve the academic environment for the fellow including remote access to CERGE-EI Library resources and the opportunity to organize research stays at CERGE-EI.
The fellowship carries an award of $7200 per year and is guaranteed to be provided for 3 years. If the program receives sufficient funding in the future, fellowships may be renewed. The fellowship is over and above the salary paid by the university where the fellow will teach.
