November 1, 2010
CERGE-EI was successful in obtaining a grant from the EU Structural Funds (operational program “Prague Adaptability” managed by the City Hall of Prague) with the project entitled “Development and quality enhancement of the Ph.D. in Economics program at CERGE UK”.
The main purpose of the project is development and quality enhancement in the academic program run by CERGE-EI. The target group of the project is represented by the current students of CERGE-EI. The main goal of the project is to be pursued through the implementation of the three following tasks:
- Fostering the motivating stipend program for advanced Ph.D. students
- Employing advanced Ph.D. students at the project partner’s institution (NHÚ AV ČR)
- Supporting foreign placements of CERGE-EI Ph.D. students.
Overall, the main objective of the project is to enable the advanced Ph.D. students to fully concentrate on their research. In addition, the project aims at increasing the academic capacity of the research staff at CERGE-EI.
