November 16, 2012
Professor Švejnar won the NEURON 2012 Award for his lifetime achievement in Economics, granted by the Karel Janeček Foundation in Support of Science and Research. Together with other laureates, Prof. Švejnar gave a speech not only on his profound research in the area of enterprise performance, but also about his career beginnings and interesting aspects of academic life.
Jakub Steiner was granted the NEURON 2012 Award for young Economics researchers under the age of 40. A CERGE-EI graduate, Jakub had for several years practiced game-theoretic research at the University of Edinburgh and the Northwestern University, before returning to CERGE-EI last September.
Karel Janeček is the founder of RSJ, a brokerage firm that has supported CERGE-EI students since 2008. His endowment fund's mission focuses on supporting young Czech academics returning from abroad to pursue research careers.
