Citizens on Poverty - March 2012

In its March survey Public Opinion Research Centre enquired several questions concerning poverty. On average, respondents believe that the monthly salary for a family of four which marks the poverty level is 27,527 CZK. The investigation showed that more than three quarters (77%) of citizens think that it is not true that "all people in the Czech Republic now have the same opportunities to achieve success." Just a little more than a fifth (22%) of citizens believe that "a man himself is above all responsible for his poverty", while three quarters (74%) think the opposite. Two thirds (67%) of Czechs believe that "poverty of the people is mainly the fault of our state", 27% disagree with that.
