Another article highlights the Czech Science Founda-tion – GACR (Grantová agentura České republiky), which was established in 1993 as an independent body. It promotes progress across the whole range of basic research in the Czech Republic. Its main function is to provide financial support for research projects submitted by individuals or organizations on the basis of a public tender.
