Tomáš Pecháček
Tomáš spent his post-doctoral stay in our group from 2008 to 2013, working on stochastic variability of X-ray sources and Fourier power spectra from hot spots in accretion discs. Tomáš derived a mathematical way of characterising the power-spectrum profiles that exhibit multiple breaks and non-monotonic profiles. One of the papers was featured by Astronomy & Astrophysics journal (Pecháček et al., A&A 487, 2008, pp.815-830).
René Goosmann
René spent his post-doctoral stay in our group from 2006 to 2008, working on radiative transfer models in the close vicinity of accreting supermassive black holes. In particular, René has contributed to the model of magnetic flares occurring above black-hole accretion discs and producing specific patterns of variability (Goosmann et al., A&A 475, 2007, pp.155-168). After Prague, René accepted a position at Strasbourg University.
