Citizens on the European Parliament Elections - June 2014

In the June survey the Public Opinion Research Centre has focused on the recent elections to the European Parliament. The research specifically examined reasoning of voters and non-voters behind their decision to take part in the elections or to abstain from them. The survey also examined the time of their decision, and among voters it explored closeness of their relations to the respective parties, which they vote for.

Relationship to the environment and the behavior of households - May 2014

In May 2014 Public Opinion Research Centre in the context of its investigation examined the Czech public attitudes towards the environment. This block was also included questions regarding friendly behavior towards the environment. Specifically, it was examined whether people are interested an plenty of information on how to gently treat the environment, and also, what is the frequency of selected environmentally-friendly activities.

Czech public on global environmental problems – May 2014

In May within the regular research the Centre for Public Opinion Research focused on the environment. Representatives of the Czech population asked questions on particular environmental phenomena in the sense of their problematic character. As the most serious problems were stated the garbage cumulation (for 92% “very” + “quite” serious problem), the drinking water pollution (91%) and the drinking water deprivation (86%).

Citizens on environment and activity of institutions - May 2014

In May 2014, Centre for Public Opinion Research asked questions about environment and its protection. Czech citizens evaluated activity of the Czech Republic in this area and also activities of some state institutions and ecological organizations in these questions. Specifically, we were interested in opinions of Czech public on activity of Government, Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, Parliament, Regional Offices, Municipal Offices.

Citizens on State of Environment - May 2014

According to May 2014 survey of CVVM people are more satisfied with state of environment at their place of residence (78 %) than in the Czech republic in general (62 %). Respondents were most satisfied with accessability of free nature (87 % "satisfied"), quality of drinking water (86 %) and cleanness of surrounding nature (79 %). On the other hand respondents were dissatisfied with impact of density of traffic on the environment (57 % "dissatisfied", 43 % "satisfied").
