The international conference CZECHOSLOVAKIA AND THE OTHER OCCUPIED NATIONS IN LONDON: The Story of the Exile Revisited after Seventy Years
The Institute for Contemporary History, in co-operation with the Institute of History and the Masaryk Institute and Archive (The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic), together with the Faculty of Law and the Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences (Charles University in Prague), and under the auspices of the Czech section of the British-Czech-Slovak Historian’s Forum, organized an international conference (6-7 June 2013 in the Czernin Palace in Prague) about the roles played by the exile representations stationed in London during the Second World War and their impact on the post-war settlement. More than twenty historians from nine countries presented their papers and views in five panels. On 5 June in the evening at the British Embassy, the conference was preceded by the second annual Bruce Lockhart Lecture: Prof. Richard Overy (University of Exeter) spoke on British Political Warfare and Occupied Europe.
