Curriculum vitae:

1980-1986

University of Palacký, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Olomouc, Czech Republic

1986 – 1989

Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics, Czechoslovak  Academy of Sciences,

Prague, Czech Republic, degree CSc. (eq. PhD), PhD Thesis: Incidence of plasmids in Ruminal bacteria

1989 – present

Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics, Academy of Sciences of Czech

Republic, Laboratory of anaerobic mikrobiology, scientist,  member of staff

Specialization:

I am fully interested in microbiology of mammal digestive tract with special emphasis on microbes of herbivorous ruminants. Among microorganisms occupying rumen ecosystem, which are bacteria, archaea, protozoa and fungi, I pay special attention to gut anaerobic fungi. Their isolation, characterisation and biotechnological application is my main research activity. The recent interest in microbial diversity of biogas plants is natural consequence of our effort to apply anaerobic microbes of gastrointestinal tract in biotechnology.

Societies:

Czechoslovak society for microbiology

Internship abroad:

1993

The Rowett Research Institute, Aberdeen, Scotland, U.K.

The study of plasmids in ruminal strains of Selenomonas ruminantium

1996
