J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the ASCR, v.v.i., offers:

A postdoctoral position (one year stay with optional prolongation) in the group of Dr. Michal Fárník (in the Department of Chemistry of Ions and Clusters). The position will be funded by several projects of the Grant Agency of the CR Nos.: 14-14082S, 13-11635S and 14-08937S:

Applicants should have PhD. in physics, experience with vacuum physics, electronics, lasers, and computer control and evaluation of experiments.

The successful applicant will be involved in molecular beam experiments with clusters and nanoparticles on a unique home-built cluster beam CLUB apparatus, and apparatus for imaging AIM. They involve :
1) laser photodissociation investigations by means of velocity map imaging (VMI) technique.
2) mass spectrometry with various time-of-flight and quadrupole mass spectrometry methods

The successful candidate will:
1) perform experiments on CLUB and AIM apparatus, and evaluate the data;
2) help to service and maintain the CLUB and AIM apparatus with the corresponding laser systems;
3) further develop and upgrade new experimental schemes, and data acquisition and evaluation procedures, especially within the new VMI technique.
