Research interest

Analytical chemistry (before all GC-MS and GC×GC/TOFMS) in studies on chemical communication of social insects, primer and releaser pheromones, chemical ecology of termites, chemistry of defense, hormonal regulation of caste differentiation. Isolation and identification of unknown compounds from natural sources.

 
Long-term collaborations

Collaboration with Dr. Mike Lacey (CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences, Australia) in identification of unknown termite compounds. 2 joint publications, one running project.

Collaboration with Dr. Christian Bordereau (Université de Bourgogne, Dijon, France) in identification of termite pheromones. 1 joint publications, one running project.

Collaboration with Dr. David Sillam-Dusses (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement, IRD France-Nord, Paris, France) in termite chemical ecology. 5 joint publications, one running project.

Collaboration with Dr. Og DeSouza (Department of Entomology, Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil) in termite pheromones. Three running projects.
