Blažek, P.: The PARAF (Parallel Acts of Philosophy): Editing and Samizdat Journal, 1985-1989. ICH Prague, 2006, 109 pp. + 1 CD.

Concerns primarily the PARAF journal, the only samizdat periodical devoted systematically to philosophy. The journal was edited and primarily contributed to by Václav Benda and Radim Palouš, while Ivan Chvatík was commissioned with mimeographs/reproductions. Here, dozens of authors, both domestic and exiled, could publish their works and translations of foreign authors or book reviews. In all, 10 numbers of this journal appeared between 1985 and 1989. The introductory study, interviews and annexes deal with editorial preparations, production and distribution. Attention has also been paid to the formal appearance of the journal as well as to the themes and authors it has focussed on and to the language disputes connected to its publication. A CD forms an important part of the publication, as it contains all facsimiles of PARAF journal. Edited by ICH.
