Andreas Ortmann has been  a Senior Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since January 2007 (Researcher August 2000 – December 2006). In March 2009, he accepted a  professorship offer from the Australian School of Business at UNSW, Sydney, Australia. Earned his B.A. degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Bielefeld, Germany, and M.S. in Economics from the University of Georgia, Athens, USA, August 1987. His Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA was awarded in 1991. 1985-1990 Research Assistant, Experimental Economics Laboratory Technician, and Instructor, Economics Department, Texas A&M University. 1990-1991 Research Associate, Economics Department, Texas A&M University. 1991-1999 Assistant Professor of Economics, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, ME. 1995-1996 and 1999-2001 Research Fellow, Program on Non-Profit Organizations, Yale University, New Haven, CT. 1996-1997 Research Scientist, Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition, Max-Planck-Institut für Psychologische Forschung, Munich, Germany. 1999-2000 Research Scientist, Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition, Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung, Berlin, Germany. August 2000 – April 2004 Assistant Professor at CERGE, Charles University. Promoted to Associate Professor at CERGE, Charles University in May 2004 and Full Professor in May 2009.  June 2005 – August 2009 Professor with tenure at CERGE-EI (under US permanent charter) October 2005 – August 2009 Member of the Executive and Supervisory Committee of CERGE-EI. 2006-2007 Visiting Scholar, Harvard Business School, Cambridge, MA. January 2007 – April 2009 Chair of the Board (formerly, Scientific Council) of the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
