JUDr. Jana Kratěnová

Jana Kratěnová 's main areas of specialization are Intellectual Property, legal aspects of Knowledge Transfer and Open Access as well as contracts  in R&D cooperation.  She is active in providing legal consultancy, giving presentations in the Czech Republic and abroad (e.g. France, China, Moldova, Slovakia, Belgium) and publishing within her areas of specialization. Jana has been appointed to the following expert positions/become a member of the following expert groups at the EU and national level:

  • National Contact Point for Legal & Financial issues for Horizon 2020/FP7
  • Member of Horizon 2020 MGA expert group
  • Vice-Chair of ERAC Working Group on Knowledge Transfer
  • Expert for EU IU21 study on model contracts for facilitating knowledge transfer
  • CZ National Point of Reference for Open Access
  • Member of CZ Open Access working group

In the past she worked in Czech liaison office for research and development (CZELO) in Brussels. Jana pursued internships at Prague’s District Courts and also gained practical experience while working in advocacy. Jana passed Czech Bar Exams successfully.

Jana graduated from Charles University, Law Faculty (Master of Laws, with Honors), where she also obtained Doctor degree (JUDr.). She studied for a year at University Turku, Law Faculty, Finland, where she focused on European IPR and Commercial Law.
