Rebecca Blank Visits CERGE-EI and Charles University
August 4, 2014
Rebecca M. Blank, current chancellor of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA visited CERGE-EI on August 4th 2014. She met with Prof. Švejnar and deputies of CERGE-EI.
Mrs. Blank was interested in CERGE-EI‘s study programs and wide alumni network. She also visited the CERGE-EI library, which is the best economics library in the region. After visiting CERGE-EI, she continued to Charles University to meet the Rector Tomáš Zima and visit the historic halls of the Karolinum.
Mrs. Blank is a summa cum laude graduate in Economics from the University of Minnesota and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. On March 18, 2013, she was recommended for the position of Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin. Before that Mrs. Blank was serving as United States Secretary of Commerce.
