The call for proposals for ERC Starting Grants was announced. The deadline for this call is February 3, 2015 at 17:00 (Brussels local time).

ERC Starting Grants are designed to support Principal Investigators who intend to start their own independent research team in any Member State or Associated Country.

The Principal Investigator shall have received her/his first PhD more than 2 and less than 7 years before January 1, 2015. It is expected, that the applicants for the ERC Starting Grants will have produced at least one important publication without the participation of their PhD supervisor.

The Principal Investigator need not be employed by the host institution at the time when the proposal is submitted. The funding per ERC Starting Grant can be up to a maximum of 1 500 000 EUR for a period of 5 years. The proposals have to be submitted via the Participant Portal.
