Alumni Profiles

Zvezda Dermendzhieva is a Pricing Specialist at Generali Insurance in Prague. Prior to that, she was a Research Fellow at the Osteuropa-Institut in Regensburg, Germany. Before beginning her PhD studies at CERGE-EI in 2002, Zvezda earned a Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria. She defended her dissertation thesis, titled "Essays on International Migration" in 2010 and accepted a Visiting Assistant Professor position at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, Japan, before taking up her current position in Germany in autumn 2011. Her primary research interests include labor economics, migration and integration.
