CERGE-EI ESC Member Alan Krueger Nominated as Chair of US Council of Economic Advisers
29 August, 2011
CERGE-EI ESC Member Alan B. Krueger was nominated earlier today to chair Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) by US President Barack Obama. The CEA is the US Government's highest economic-policy making body. Professor Kruger joined the CERGE-EI ESC in November 2010 after leaving prior government service as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy.
In 2009 Professor Krueger collaborated with CERGE-EI Senior Researcher Jitka Malečková on a widely-cited study titled "Public Opinion and the Occurrence of International Terrorism" in the journal Science.
The entire CERGE-EI Community wishes Professor Krueger good luck in his new job and looks forward to his return to CERGE-EI in the future.
