CERGE-EI Student Wins GDN Award

Petar Stankov, Senior Assistant Professor at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and doctoral candidate at CERGE-EI in Prague won second prize in the Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development on January 14 at the 2010 Global Development Awards and Medals Competition for his project titled “Financial Crises and Reversals in Financial Development.”

2010 NFKJ Neutron Award in Economics

Michal Pakoš, a Senior Researcher at CERGE-EI, has received the 2010 Neutron award in the field of economics. The annual Neutron awards were recently established by Nadační fond Karla Janečka (Karel Janeček's Endowment Fund).

CERGE-EI, together with GHK, form the Core team coordinating European Employment Observatory (EEO) which contributes to developing the European Employment Strategy (EES) by providing information, comparative research, and evaluation on employment policies and labour market trends in the countries in the EU and EU candidate countries.
