Institute of Photonics and Electronics hereby announces a new open position in accorance with the Act no. 283/1992 Coll. of the Czech Academy of Sciences, as amended by Act no. 420/2005 Coll. and CAS Statutes selection on the procedure to recruit specialist research and development scientists fot he team of Optical Biosensors.
Requirements:
- University degree and PhD. in physics, physical chemistry, colloid chemistry or related fields,
- practice in an optical and physico-chemical laboratory,
- experience with methods for the characterization of nanomaterials (electron microscopy, preparation of samples for electron microscopy, DLS, absorption spectroscopy) and knowledge of their physical principles,
- experience with interpretation of the absorption spectra of colloidal solutions of plasmonic nanoparticles
- active knowledge of English.
Job description:
- Synthesis of gold colloidal nanoparticles of nonspherical shapes with narrow size dispersion and targeted optical properties,
- characterization of prepared samples, interpretation and correlation of results from electron microscopy and optical spectroscopy,
- design and optimization of synthetic procedures and their evaluation, standardization of procedures for the characterization of colloidal samples.
