At the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics ASCR was established the new Center PIGMOD (Pig Models of Diseases) composed from three excelent laboratories focused to biomedical research on miniature pigs. The proposed research will identify new set of biomarkers and therapeutic methods first of all for traumatic spinal cord injury, Huntington disease and human melanoma. 
Cooperation of laboratories involved in Center PIGMOD with companies active in the applied research will be the substantial part of research activity. Research teams of Center PIGMOD are supported by CHDI Foundation, Neuralstem and Synovo companies.
