Removal of carbon dioxide from air or biogas is a very important task in practical industries. In such separation, simple methods such as membrane processes are promising. Proposed in this Czech-Taiwanese collaborative project is the preparation of nanoparticles-filled membranes and their application in supporting the liquid layer for gas separation. The liquid layer immobilization and related properties will be thoroughly investigated. This study on the gas transport properties of immobilized liquid layer is hoped to contribute to better comprehension of the mass transport as well as bring new and interesting results (e.g. the increase in the efficiency of gas separation). Both teams are believed to gain more scientific experience via this collaborative opportunity. The results from both institutions will be collected and submitted to prestigious international journals for publication and could further lead to the utilization of new immobilized liquid membranes on gas separation with significant technical impact. It may provide a potential alternative in solving ecology problems by recycling gases in an efficient way.
