The aim of the project is a discovering of how culture development, cultural activities organization and exploitation are conditioned by social and institutional setting of a region and how to employ this knowledge in the activities of the subjects engaged in culture and cultural heritage maintaining. Social environment is understood as the structural characteristics of the inhabitants, measure of social capital and social cohesion and their regional distinctiveness; institutional environment is understood as regional public administration, self-government particularly, then non-profit and private sector organisations. The project is focused on the initiative and coordinative function of local public administration in culture and cultural heritage maintaining and on the exploitation of culture and cultural heritage in regional tourism development.

The article deals with explicit cultural policy and its outcomes in the post-communist Czech Republic. In the first part, the authors look at the organisational and conceptual impact on culture of the transition from a centrally managed economy to a pluralist parliamentary democracy following the collapse of the Eastern Bloc.
The case study Praha 14 IS cultural is focused on cultural revitalization of municipal district Prague 14th during years 2013 and 2014. Study is concentrated on formation of strategy for culture, sport, leisure time activities and art, conversion of a former boiler house to the cultural and creative center Plecharna, anthropological research and cultural projects which are based on participation of local active residents or non governmental organization in the process of creation.
Nestandardní opatření vůči ústeckému divadlu uprostřed sezóny nepřišla ze dne na den. Jsou výsledkem delšího vývoje, v němž se od sebe vzdalovaly postoje a představy politiků a divadelníků. Výsledný stav není dobrý pro nikoho.
