RECRUITMENT– Two new POSTDOCTORAL positions

J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the CAS, v.v.i., offers :

*** one postdoctoral position available in the Department of Low Dimensional Systems in the team of Dr. Martin Kalbáč.

The tasks of the postdoctoral fellow will be the study of carbon nanostructures (carbon nanotubes, graphene).

The applicant must hold a PhD degree in organic or physical chemistry.

***one postdoctoral position (one year stay with optional prolongation) in the group of Dr. Juraj Fedor.

The position is aimed to establish a new Laboratory of J. E. Purkyne Fellow Dr. Juraj Fedor currently founded in the Institute. It will be funded from several projects of the group of Dr. M. Fárník:

Applicants should have PhD. in physics, experience with vacuum physics, electronics, lasers, and computer control and evaluation of experiments.

The successful applicant will be involved in setup of a new experiment with moved by J. Fedor from Fribourg University to Prague and subsequently in measurements of electron attachment to molecules. In parallel he/she will be also involved in molecular beam experiments with clusters and nanoparticles on a unique home-built cluster beam CLUB apparatus, and apparatus for imaging AIM. They experiments involve and require knowledge of molecular and electron beams, ion and electron optics, vacuum techniques, electronics and various laser techniques, velocity map imaging (VMI) technique.
The successful candidate will:
1) perform experiments on electron attachment machine and CLUB and AIM apparatus, and evaluate the data;
2) help to service and maintain the experiments with the corresponding laser systems;
3) further develop and upgrade new experimental schemes, and data acquisition and evaluation procedures.
