Ageing Society – Technology and the Future of Care, and Sustainable Consumption

The seminar outputs on possible scenarios for the development of an aging population and civil consultation on sustainable consumption were the basis for the two European comparative studies that will be presented to Czech and European politicians and stakeholders at a conference in Brussels on March 17, 2015.

How to cope with ageing societies is one of the grand challenges pointed out in the Lund decleration from 2009. The rapidly growing population of seniors confronts Europe with a double demographic challenge. The ageing population’s need for healthcare services increases at the same time as the access to workforce declines. Given the services today, the need for care in the population will at some point surpass the available workforce. Healthcare technologes can be increasingly important for the society to be able to offer healthcare services at a quantity and quality that mirrors the expectations of European citizens.

You are very welcome to participate at the final conference by the PACITA project - Ageing Society and Sustainable Consumption  which take place on 17, March, at Salle des Guichets, BIP, Rue Royale 2-4, Brussels.
