The 2015 IZA Prize in Labor Economics goes to Jan Švejnar, the founder and director of IDEA and chairman of the Executive and Supervisory Committee of CERGE-EI in Prague. He was recognized for his work on economic issues in labor market, development and the transition from socialist to market economies.

A presentation of the EEAG Report on the European Economy took place on Monday March 30 at 9:30am at the CERGE-EI. A number of guests discussed the macroeconomic prospects of Europe and several trends that affect European politics and economy including migration and energy strategy.

A new IDEA study by Vojtěch Bartoš investigates possible discrimination against female job applicants in the form of a lower probability of getting invited to a job interview in the years when either it is expected that the female applicants will soon go on maternity leave or when they have young children which might limit their working capacity.
