Topic Synthesis and Application of Functionalized Helquats
Faculty FCHT VŠCHT, PřF UK
Abstract

We have recently opened up an unknown scientific territory by introducing helquats (helical extended diquats), compounds representing the missing structural link between helicenes and viologens. To exploit the emerging potential of helquats, a strategy to introduce useful functional groups onto the helquat skeleton needs to be developed. The goal of this project is not only to prepare functionalized helquats, but also to apply them in various branches of molecular science.
