Petr Zemčík has been an Associate Professor at CERGE, Charles University, since February 2012 (Assistant Professor since September 2003). He has been a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since September 2003. He served as the Deputy Director for Research at CERGE-EI 2007- 2009. He received his M.Sc. in Econometrics and Operations Research, Prague School of Economics, 1992 (with honors), M.A. in Economics, University of Pittsburgh, 1996 and his Ph.D. in Economics, University of Pittsburgh in 1997. 1992 - 1998, Teaching Fellow, Department of Economics, University of Pittsburgh. 1998 - 2003, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. July 2001 - August 2001, Visiting Professor, Department of Economics, Concordia University, Montreal. Member of Midwest Economics Association. He has published in peer reviewed academic journals including the Journal of Housing Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Economics and Finance, the Journal of Multivariate Analysis, the International Review of Economics and Finance and the Southern Economic Journal. In 2006, he received a Marie-Curie Global Reintegration Fellowship from the European Commission and was awarded the Wichterle Award for Outstanding Young Researchers of the Academy of Sciences in the Czech Republic.
