Jiří Trešl has been a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since November 2014. He is also a Program Director of CERGE-EI's Master of Arts in Applied Economics program where he teaches the Applied Investment Analysis course. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He earned his B. A. degree in International Trade from the University of Economics, Prague (2007), an M. A. in Applied Economics from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln (UNL), USA (2009) and a Ph. D. degree in Finance, also from UNL (2013). He held a Robitschek Undergraduate Scholarship, UNL (2005), Ogle Fellowship, UNL (2009, 2010–2011) and a Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) Travel Scholar Scholarship (2012–2013). He is a holder of the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award from the College of Business Administration, UNL (2012) and the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity Outstanding Educator Award, UNL (2013). He is a member of the Czech Economic Society, Eastern Finance Association, Midwest Finance Association, American Finance Association, Financial Management Association, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association, and is an Affiliated Member of the CFA Institute, where he completed Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Exams I, II and III.
