Description:

Anopress is a multidisciplinary database focusing on monitoring the Czech media back to 1996.

It provides access to full texts of articles from the Czech periodical press (daily press, regional press, technical periodicals and special-interest periodicals) and word-for-word transcripts of selected reports from national Czech television broadcasts and national and regional radio broadcasts.

Along with its archive, it takes in a total of 523 periodicals, 152 reports from 11 television channels and 39 reports from 196 radio stations.

Description:

ASPI is an automated system for work with legal information. It contains all the legal regulations issued in the Czech Republic and the legal regulations of the European Union and European Community. All sources are monitored on a regular basis and the contents of the database continually updated with a view to amendments to the legal code. All preceding versions of the given regulations are available in addition to current editions. The service Legislative Process Monitoring also makes it possible to monitor a comprehensive overview of legislative amendments in preparation.

The ASL licence provides access to five principal parts of ASPI:

• The legal regulations of the Czech Republic containing more than 65,000 regulations from more than 110 sources in complete full-text form from 1918 onwards;
• Jurisprudence with more than 220,000 rulings made by courts of all instances and rulings made by a number of other authorities;
• Legal regulations of the EU and jurisprudence of the CJEU containing more than 100,000 regulations, rulings and other documents (decrees, rulings, guidelines, the jurisprudence of the EU Court of Justice);

Biological Abstracts is a bibliographic biology database containing bibliographic records and abstracts of scientific papers from 4,387 journals covering the period 1978–2009.

Biological Abstracts is comprised of three main databases: Biological Abstracts 1990–2008, Biological Abstracts 1987–1989 and Zoological Record 1978–2009.

Biological Abstracts covers not merely traditional biology disciplines – botany, zoology, microbiology, clinical and veterinary medicine, pharmacology, biotechnology, the environment and agriculture – but also interdisciplinary fields associated with biology such as biochemistry, biophysics and bioengineering. The database is divided into two parts representing two time periods: 1987–1989 and 1990–2008.

BioOne Complete is a full-text database containing journal papers and books focusing on biology, ecology and environmental sciences. A total of 184 titles from 140 publishers are available for 2015. These are journals available by subscription and journals published under an open-access licence. Almost three-quarters of all the journals contained in the database are included in the citation index Journal Citation Reports from the company Thompson Reuters, and almost half are available on-line exclusively through BioOne. The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH) database was established by the academies of sciences of the countries of the Visegrad Four with the aim of creating an open-access database containing English abstracts of scientific and academic papers written largely in national languages. It presently contains 66,860 papers from 1,214 journals in the social and humanitarian sciences published in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Serbia, Slovenia and the Ukraine. Description:

Ebrary is the multidisciplinary digital library of the company ProQuest. The ASL licence makes available titles from the Academic Complete collection, containing books in all areas of science divided into fifteen groups: anthropology, business, computers and IT, education, engineering and technology, art, history, languages and literature, law, natural sciences, medicine, physical sciences, psychology, religion and social sciences. The collection currently contains 133,707 books dating back as far as 1762. Selected titles from the publishing house Karolinum (Charles University) have also been available through Ebrary since last year. In addition to on-line reading, Ebrary also allows off-line loans of whole books on the user’s own device (for a period of 14 days) and the printing, copying and downloading of selected sections. The number of pages available for downloading, copying and printing depends on the policy of the individual publisher and may, for this reason, differ for each book.

• Academic Search Complete is the most comprehensive multidisciplinary database in the world. It indexes more than 12,500 journals, of which more than 8,500 are available in full-text form and more than 7,300 are peer-reviewed. In addition to periodicals, it also includes monographs and reports and anthologies from conferences. In total, more than 13,200 publications are available, covering a period from 1887 to the present day. A citation database of more than 1,400 periodicals is also available within the Academic Search Complete database.
• Business Source Complete is a renowned bibliographic citation and full-text database specialising in business and covering a period as far back as 1886.
• Regional Business News offers comprehensive coverage of regional business publications. It contains more than eighty publications from all parts of the USA.
• Art Source covers the world of art and related fields such as architecture and architectural design. It contains full texts of more than 600 periodicals and 220 books. It also includes an image gallery with more than 63,000 items.
• Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts contains an index of more than 560 leading periodicals, books, research reports and anthologies in the areas of librarianship, information science and information marketing.
• GreenFILE is a database focusing on documents related to man’s impact on the environment. It contains records and abstracts on more than 384,000 titles and full texts of almost 5,000 documents.
• Education Resource Information Center is one of the principal sources for education. It contains more than 1.3 million records, including periodicals contained in the database Current Index of Journals in Education and the Resources in Education Index.
• MEDLINE is a database of authoritative medical information created by the US National Library of Medicine. The database uses the MeSH branch divisions (Medical Subject Headings) and enables searches for citations from more than 5,400 specialist journals.
• Newswires provides access to current news from the most famous news agencies – Associated Press, United Press International, PR Newswire, Xinhua, CNN Wire and Business Wire. A link in each record enables access to full texts. The database stores news reports from the last 30 days.

Ebsco eBooks is a multidisciplinary and multi-genre digital library currently containing as many as 139,705 indexed books. Part of this collection is permanent, while part may change over the course of time. Users who have not set up their own database account may search for and read books on-line, and save, print or send by e-mail selected parts (a maximum of 60 pages). Users must set up an account (free) to download complete books onto their device. The loan period amounts to seven days and the reader may loan a maximum of 50 books at any one time. Books are made available under a single licence, i.e. any given book may be downloaded by just one user at any given time. Users may, however, reserve loaned books.

The on-line database ISSN Portal contains more than 1.8 million records of periodicals from all over the world. The database is divided into two parts: JCR Science Editions and JCR Social Sciences Editions which together cover practically all branches of science including the social sciences and technical fields. Journal Citation Reports makes it possible to search for the most cited journals in the given fields, to evaluate the impact of scientific results and to perform further analysis with the help of citation links. The Web of Science Core Collection is the main Web of Science database. This multidisciplinary database contains records from more than 12,000 impacted journals from all over the world (including open-access journals) and more than 160,000 conference proceedings. It covers more than 250 branches of science from the year 1900 onwards.

Current Contents Connect contains bibliographic data and the contents and abstracts of specialist journals and books currently published and selected webpages and documents. Data Citation Index is a database focusing on work with research data, data sets and research reports. It makes it possible to discover useful data associated with a selected topic. The ASL licence provides access to the editions Science and Social Sciences & Humanities.

Derwent Innovations Index makes it possible to conduct quick and accurate searches for patents in chemistry, electrotechnics, electronics and engineering. It contains more than 14.3 million discoveries registered with forty of the world’s patent organisations. Derwent Patent Citation Index also makes it possible to search for links between individual patents using citations. The index covers patents stretching back to 1963, with citations dating back to 1973.

KCI-Korean Journal Database contains bibliographic records on papers from around two thousand specialist journals published in Korea. This includes both pre-subscribed journals and journals published in open-access form. Covering a period dating back to 1980.

MEDLINE is a leading bibliographic database in medicine and related sciences created by the US National Library of Medicine. It indexes content from more than 4,900 branch journals published in thirty languages and a selection of relevant documents from newspapers, magazines and news bulletins. The branch thesaurus Medical Subject Headings and CAS registry numbers of chemical substances can be used for search purposes. Covering a period dating back to 1950.

SciELO Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database providing access to specialist texts published in open-access journals in Latin America, Spain, Portugal, the Caribbean and South Africa. Covering a period dating back to 1997.

Zoological Record is the world’s oldest database in animal biology. It contains 4,719 journal titles and other documents including books, research reports and conference proceedings covering a period dating back to 1994. It also contains an extensive database of animal names which, thanks to its coverage dating back to 1864, makes it possible to study the development of individual naming systems.

Web of Science also makes it possible to access the Journal Citation Reports citation databases.
