The goal of ESS science symposia held in various European countries since 2011 is to explore scientific challenges brought by current construction of European Spallation Source in Lund, Sweden. The symposium Future Engineering Diffraction Research in Materials Processing and Testing is organised by Czech-German team collaborating on the design and construction of new engineering beamline for ESS. The vision is to extend the current scope of engineering diffraction research from conventional strain scanning, texture and in-situ deformation studies towards the broader material engineering and metallurgy research during material processing and testing.
