Who Do and Don’t we Recognise?

One of the fields, which was researched within the section “Historical and Ethnic Regions in the CZ”, were ideas of people about differences in inhabitants of individual regions compared with foreigners and ethnic minorities. The results show that compared with other surveyed options the fewest people dare to claim that they would recognise inhabitants of their own region, most of them are convinced they would recognise foreigners on a short-term stay in the CZ. As a criterion for assessing one’s own ability to recognise inhabitants of other regions of the CZ, residents of Silesia and Northern Moravia were most often chosen, less often also residents of Prague, Haná and Moravia, and Bohemia in general. The ten percent level was also passed by regions, such as the Brno Area, Chodsko, Moravian Slovakia and Wallachian Region.
