Awards of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) presented in 2014

In 2014, the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences presented the following awards.
 
Awards of the CAS for outstanding achievements of scientific importance were received by team of authors:
 
  • RNDr. Františku Slaninovi, CSc., from the Institute of Physics of the CAS, v. v. i., for the scientific outcome: Author monograph: “Essentials of Econophysics Modelling” (Oxford University Press), accompanied by the premium of100 000 CZK;
  • the team of authors nominated by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the CAS, v. v. i., consisting of RNDr. Jiří Hejnar, CSc., Mgr. Magda Matoušková, Ph.D., Mgr. Filip Šenigl, Ph.D., Mgr. Kateřina Trejbalová, Ph.D., Ing. Jiří Plachý, CSc., Mgr. Dalibor Miklík for the scientific outcome: Transcriptional regulation of retroviral vectors, and retrotransposons, accompanied by the premium of 150 000 CZK;
  • doc. Karlu Novotnému, Ph.D., M. A., from the Institute of Philosophy of the CAS, v. v. i., for the scientific outcome:Novotný, K., La genèse d’une hérésie. Awards of the CAS for young scientists for outstanding scientific achievements were presented to:

  • Mgr. Michalu Švandovi, Ph.D., born in 1980, from the Astronomical Institute of the CAS, v. v. i., for the outstanding scientific outcome: Contributions to the progress in helioseismic methods, accompanied by the premium of 50 000 CZK;
     
  • Mgr. Janu Vondrákovi, Ph.D., born in1979, from the Institute of Botany of the CAS, v. v. i., for the outstanding scientific outcome: Phylogenetic approach to taxonomy of critical groups in lichenized fungi, accompanied by the premium of 50 000 CZK;
     
  • Mgr. Evě Chodějovské, Ph.D., born in 1981, from the Institute of History of the CAS, v. v. i., for the outstanding scientific outcome: Historic Towns Atlas of the Czech Republic, vol. 24: Praha-Smíchov. Praha. Historický ústav, 2013. 98 pp. ISBN 978-80-7286-200-9, accompanied by the premium of 50 000 CZK.
