Awards of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) presented in 2011

In 2011, the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences presented the following awards.


Awards of the CAS for outstanding achievements of scientific importance were received by:

 

  • the team of authors consisting of RNDr. Antonín Šimůnek, PhD, RNDr. Jiří Vackář, PhD, from the Institute of Physics of the CAS, v. v. i. for the scientific outcome: Hardness of Covalent and Ionic Crystals, accompanied by the premium of 300 000 CZK
     
  • the team of authors consisting of Prof. Ing. Michal Haindl, DrSc., Ing. Jiří Filip, PhD, Ing. Jiří Grim,PhD, RNDr. Vojtěch Havlíček, PhD, Ing. Martin Hatka from the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the CAS, v. v. i. for the scientific outcome Mathematical Modelling of Visual Surface Properties, accompanied by the premium of 500 000 CZK

Prof. RNDr. Marie Duží, PhD from the Technical University of Ostrava for the scientific outcome Procedural Semantics for Hyperintensional Logic, accompanied by the premium of 200 000 CZK
     
  •  to PhDr. Ivan Pavlů, DSc nominated by the Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the CR from the Institute of Archaeology of the CAS, Prague, v. v. i. for the scientific outcome Artefacts in the Neolithic Society. Their Status and Role., accompanied by the premium of 200 000 CZK
     

 

 

Awards of the CAS for young scientists for outstanding scientific achievements were presented to:

 

  • Dr. Adéla Kawka, PhD, born in 1977 from the Astronomical Institute of the CAS, v. v. i. for the outstanding scientific outcome White Dwarfs in our Galaxy, accompanied by the premium of 100 000 CZK.
     
  • RNDr. Linda Nedbalová, PhD, born in1976, from the Institute of Botany of the CAS, v. v. i. for the outstanding scientific outcome Snow Algae: Unique Microorganisms from Extreme Places on Earth and Promise for Biotechnology, accompanied by the premium of 100 000 CZK
