Prague Museum Night

We would like to invite you to visit Library of the Academy of Sciences

on Sunday 13th June from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Main part of the program:

Antonin Dvorak: Symphony no. 8 G dur

Composer Dvorak dedicated this piece to Czech Academy of Science and Art (the ancestor of the current Academy) in the year 1889 in the occasion of his election into the institution.

Performance of the

Academy Orchestra

will be led by conductor and artistic director Pavel Hryzak.

App. 40 minutes long concert begins at 8 p.m. and once again at 9:30 p.m.

What else is prepared:

Guided tours

During the excursion, which will run during the whole opening, you will have the opportunity to learn for whom it was built and who decorated the neorenesance building from second half of the 19th century, nowadays the headquarters of the Czech Academy of Sciences and study of Library of ASCR. You will be introduced to history of the library and its current services. You can try them on right on the spot.

Notion: Excursions will be only in Czech language.

Guided tours are planned for whole evening/night, with the exception of concert time (8 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.) (Look at the timetable of tours.)
