Jiri Horak works as a post-doc at the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since 2005. He got his PhD degree at Charles University in Prague in October 2005.
His research focuses on the physics of accretion flows on the neutron stars and black holes, high-energy radiation scattered by relativistic jets and on the strong gravitational lensing close to very compact objects. He is also interested in resonant effects in orbital motion in strong gravitational field and in nonlinear oscillations of accretion disks.
